IX CUBAN CONGRESS OF METEOROLOGY
THE XVII LATIN AMERICAN AND IBERIAN CONGRESS OF SOCIETIES OF METEOROLOGY
II SEMINAR – WORKSHOP OF ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION
Hotel Tryp Habana Libre, from 4st to 8thof December 2017
The Meteorological Society of Cuba, in commemoration of its 25th Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary of the Institute of Meteorology is pleased to announce the celebration of the IX Cuban Congress of Meteorology the XVII Latin American and Iberian Congress of societies of meteorology and the seminar-workshop of atmospheric pollution. These conferences will take place at the Hotel Tryp Habana Libre in Havana City, on December 2017, from 4st to 8th. We extend an invitation to all researchers, professionals, civil servants, teachers, studentsfonds of meteorology, as well as those having to do with contingency plans facing extreme weather situations. This event will provide knowledge and an appropriate forum to discuss and exchange points of view on multidisciplinary research of laws and highly dynamic mechanisms in Atmospheric Sciences.
The Organizing Committee hopes that the presentations and round tables, panels, symposia, seminars and conferences that will take place in this multidisciplinary Congress shall provide guidance and information on congressional issues, especially for economic policy makers and environmental planners in our society.
The Organizing Committee has the pleasure of inviting all members, both professionals and fonds to present works in the following thematic areas:

Invited Speaker: Dra. Susan Solomon.
Susan Solomon is internationally recognized as a leader in atmospheric science, particularly for her insights in explaining the cause of the Antarctic ozone "hole". She and her colleagues have made important contributions to understanding chemistry/climate coupling, including leading research on the irreversibility of global warming linked to anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions, and on the influence of the ozone hole on the climate of the southern hemisphere. Her current focus is on issues relating to both atmospheric chemistry and climate change.
